Common Kingfishers (Alcedo atthis) are one of the United Kingdom's most famous and eye catching birds, if you can see them, that is! Their irridescent blue plumage gleams in the sunlight as they dance in the air along our waterways. As they can move very fast, you need good eyesight to catch a glimpse of them.
